  7. Exposed to art at a young age (she grew up in Rome surrounded by the works of old masters), it’s no surprise that Anna took that passion and made it into a career at Artspace. As our B2B/ Design & Corporate Manager, she spends her day working with corporate clients to build up their art collections while also managing our Inspace program for interior designers and art advisors. Here are her answers to some of our favorite questions. (Scroll through using the arrows on the right and left to see all of the images.)

    Who is your favorite artist?

    James Nares!

What is your favorite art space?

    William Bennett Gallery in Soho

What artworks are on your Artspace wish list?

Kristy Hume Harbour Island by Pamela Hanson,  Jane Wilson, Water Mill, NY by John Jonas Gruen, Truman Capote and Andy Warhol, New York City by Mick Rock,  Cimitero Monumentale by Luciano Fileti, anything by Steve Miller, anything by Kate Shepherd, In the Cloud by Yoshitomo Nara, and The Overlap Series: Palmtrees and Building by John Baldessari.

How do you decide which artworks or artists to add to your collection?

I’m still working on starting my collection, but if I had one I would chose works that speak to me. I suppose there’s no real way to describe an attraction to something like a work of art - sometimes it reminds me of an experience, sometimes it calms me… or agitates me… and if there is humor involved, all the better. Other times, I just like its aesthetic appeal (a vibrant color, a strong composition). And eventually I would also take into account its value as an investment.

Do you have any advice for aspiring collectors?

Research, explore, and stay up to date!

What’s your favorite food to snack on while in the office?

    Definitely Swedish Fish.

    What’s your go-to karaoke song?

    Anything Mariah Carey.

If you could steal a work from any institution, what would you steal?

I would steal a Roy Lichtenstein from an auction house the moment it’s about to go out for viewing… like in the Red Violin… that would be dramatic.
