Cup, 2010 by Micah and Whitney Stansell With today being the official first day of fall, I thought this photograph (or film still to be more exact) was perfect for our daily post because nothing makes me more excited for cold weather than getting to sip on hot beverages all day, every day. More interestingly, this film still is part of a multi screen installation by Micah and Whitney Stansell (husband and wife artists!) titled Between You and Me which examines small, seemingly insignificant moments that happen right before or after the big dramatic moment. When thinking of Cup in this way, the cup quickly transforms from a soothing autumn afternoon activity to a nervous glance before bad news; the calm before the storm in a way.
